SBB: Dodik's attack on the Armed Forces and peace in the country

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Alliance for a Better Future of BiH (SBB) considers today's call by member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik to soldiers of the Third Infantry Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH to wear the uniforms of the Army of Republika Srpska next year instead of their own, an unambiguous political attack on the Armed Forces of BiH as the key guarantor of peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Reviving war symbols also revives the memory of suffering, incites fear and reactions from other sides, disrupts peace and security in the country, and the built trust among peoples, so we rightly ask for whose interest the officeholders of the highest positions in the country are trying to destroy what has been built with this and similar statements," SBB stated in its reaction.

Aware that the Armed Forces of BiH are precisely the successful integrative force of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a successful example of reform and mutual cooperation, even participation in international peacekeeping missions, SBB believes that "Milorad Dodik is trying to return things to wartime with his insane and extremely dangerous call."

"Instead of modernizing the Armed Forces, improving technical and other capacities, and the standards of soldiers and other employees in the defense sector, such irresponsible statements cause particular unrest and further complicate the security and political situation in the country."

SBB believes that the future of the Armed Forces of BiH is certainly not in dismemberment and returning to war symbols, paths, and goals, but in strengthening, modernization, and integration into the NATO alliance, which is a legal obligation for members of the Presidency of BiH as well.
