Savo Milošević is the new head coach of the Dragons

(Patria) - Savo Milošević is the new head coach of the senior men's football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This decision was made by the Executive Board of the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today's session in Sarajevo, reports Faktor.ba.

Milošević will succeed Meho Kodro on the bench, who was dismissed after 49 days of leading the Dragons in his second term.

The legendary striker, former Barcelona goal-getter, was officially undone by the defeat against Iceland, which confirmed that we lost all chances of reaching the European Championship in Germany through the qualifiers.

The new head coach will have the task of preparing the team for the playoffs, which will be played in March 2024.

Milošević will make his debut on the Dragons' bench on October 13 in an away match against Liechtenstein in the 7th round of EURO 2024 qualifiers, while his premiere in front of home fans will be three days later at Bilino Polje against Portugal.

The new head coach of the Dragons was born in Bijeljina, but during his playing career he never played for his country's national team.

He played for the national team of FR Yugoslavia, Serbia and Montenegro, and later Serbia, scoring 37 goals in 102 matches.

He wore the jerseys of Partizan, Aston Villa, Zaragoza, Parma, Espanyol, Celta, Osasuna, and Russian Rubin. His coaching career is much more modest.

His first engagement was at Partizan, which he led from March 28, 2019, to September 1, 2020, when he submitted an irrevocable resignation.

In 67 matches, he recorded 43 wins, 8 draws, and 16 losses, and won the Serbian Cup.

His second engagement was at Ljubljana's Olimpija, and on the bench of the Slovenian team during 2020, he sat for only four months, accumulating 16 matches in the league and Europe (eight wins, two draws, and six losses).
