Skaka and Junod Meeting: Union of Olympic Cities Assembly in Sarajevo Next Year?

(Patria) - Mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka met today in Switzerland with the Mayor of Lausanne Gregorie Junod, who is also the President of the Union of Olympic Cities.

During a very cordial meeting on the sidelines of the opening of the Youth Olympic Games in this city, the two mayors discussed cooperation between cities, particularly in the field of sports. They noted the very successful implementation of the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) project.

Skaka informed Junod about the upcoming opening of the renovated Olympic Museum in Sarajevo.

"The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina cherishes the positive spirit of Olympism as its inseparable part, which we proved a year ago by hosting the EYOF, confirming that we can successfully implement major sports projects," Skaka said on this occasion.

Furthermore, the possibility of Sarajevo hosting the Assembly of the Union of Olympic Cities in 2021 was also discussed, and hope was expressed that the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina will host the world's largest sports competitions in the future.
