Sarajevo residents alarmed, waited in streets for a new earthquake!

Most residents of Sarajevo and its surroundings were woken up by a stronger earthquake two hours after midnight last night, writes the Patria News Agency.

- Devices at the Seismology Centre of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute in Sarajevo registered a stronger earthquake at 02:05 AM with an epicenter 20 kilometers southeast of Sarajevo in the Koran-Pale area. The magnitude of the earthquake at the hypocenter was 4.2 Richter, and the intensity at the epicenter was VI degrees on the Mercalli scale. Earthquakes of this magnitude can cause minor material damage in the epicentral area and were felt in Sarajevo and its surroundings, according to the Seismology Service of the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute.

Citizens were so alarmed that some left their apartments and houses, but after there was no second earthquake, they returned to their homes. This was particularly pronounced in neighborhoods with skyscrapers, and according to residents of Alipašino Polje, the earthquake was felt most strongly on the highest floors.
