Sarajevo taxi drivers put up photos of Halid Bešlić on their vehicles

(Patria) - Sarajevo taxi drivers decided to express their respect for the legend of folk music Halid Bešlić in a special way.

They put up his photos on their vehicles, ready to transport for free all guests from the region who come to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Bešlić's final farewell.

In a post on social media, they wrote that this is the least they can do for the musician whose songs have connected generations.

"The mark Halid Bešlić left during his lifetime is evidenced by the fact that gatherings will be organized in his honor in cities around the world today, and his admirers in more than 100 cities will bid farewell to the legend of folk music.

Free rides to the funeral for our friends from the region who have come to share our grief is the least Sarajevo taxi can do. There is only one Halid," they stated.

Admirers of Halid Bešlić will pay tribute to his life and work today in more than 100 cities around the world. Gatherings are mostly scheduled for 5:00 PM.

Among the BiH cities where a gathering will be held are Sarajevo, Banja Luka, Gradačac, Prijedor, Bosanska Gradiška, Visoko, Travnik, Brčko, Odžak, Orašje, Mostar, Goražde, Bihać, Kakanj, and Livno.

Fans will also remember Halid in cities in the region and around the world, including Koper, Ljubljana, Poreč, Osijek, Frankfurt, Munich, Rosenheim, Berlin, Toronto, Sydney, Doha, and Melbourne.

This gesture by Sarajevo taxi drivers is a symbol of gratitude and respect for the singer who, with his music, transcended borders and connected people of different generations.
