Sarajevo's Klas opens new production facility in Srebrenica, jobs for 150 workers

(Patria) - The well-known Sarajevo company Klas d.d. plans to expand its production and open a new facility in Srebrenica, which, according to estimates, will bring up to 150 new jobs. This investment represents an important step towards strengthening the local economy and opening new employment opportunities.

During a visit by representatives of the company Klas to the municipality mayor Miloš Vučić, both sides confirmed their readiness to cooperate in order to develop economic activities and increase production capacities in Srebrenica.

The Klas delegation was led by General Director Madžid Avdagić, who, together with Mayor Vučić, discussed concrete steps for the implementation of the planned project. Vučić recalled that this is a continuation of talks that began three months ago, and are now moving into the phase of practical implementation.

"Klas already operates in Srebrenica through a smaller facility, and now they plan to open a new plant in the confectionery industry. The machines have already been purchased and we expect that suitable space for their installation will be found soon. This project will enable the opening of new jobs, and in the coming period, up to 150 workers could be employed," said Mayor Vučić.

He emphasized that the local administration is actively working on creating a better business environment and supporting investors, highlighting three key priorities of the municipality – water supply, economy, and education.

"Our goal is for Srebrenica to become a center of economic development for the Zvornik region and a place where citizens have more opportunities for work and progress," added Vučić.

General Director Madžid Avdagić confirmed that the company has already purchased a modern production line for confectionery products worth around 70,000 KM, which will be installed in Srebrenica as soon as suitable space is secured.

"Klas has been present in Srebrenica for ten years through the production of Bosnian rahat lokum, and now we plan further expansion and introduction of new products. I am confident that in the coming months we will launch the new facility and increase the number of employees," said Avdagić.

He expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the local community, noting that he is particularly impressed by the openness and understanding of Mayor Vučić, which further motivates the company to invest in development precisely in Srebrenica, reports RTV Srebrenica.
