Sarajevo ready to welcome athletes, delegations, guests at EYOF 2019

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The City of Sarajevo will be ready to welcome thousands of athletes, delegation members, guests, and foreign tourists who will come to the European Youth Olympic Festival EYOF 2019 from February 9 to 16 - it was confirmed today after a meeting between Mayor Abdulah Skaka and the heads of numerous institutions, public enterprises, and companies involved in the organization of this major sporting event and the Opening Ceremony at the "Asim Ferhatović Hase" stadium.

Satisfaction was expressed with the final preparations, and additional efforts were announced to present the City of Sarajevo in the best possible light. Mayor Skaka emphasized that change and success are possible through joint efforts and energy.

- EYOF is not a personal project tied to my name; only together can we succeed and create new memories for new generations. Each of you has put in a lot of effort, and I want to greet everyone working on this project - said Mayor Skaka.

He stressed that the city cleaning campaign in Sarajevo ahead of EYOF aims to bring together all those who want to be part of this great project.

- We want to send a message that we have not forgotten how to organize major events, and we want to remember 2019 as something special. I thank the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton for their support in simulating the arrival of delegations - said Mayor Skaka, among other things.

EYOF 2019 will bring together over a thousand competitors, nearly 750 delegation members from 46 European countries, and over 150 accredited journalistic teams and thousands of volunteers from all over the country in Sarajevo.
