Sarajevo: Department for persons with dementia renovated

In the premises of the Cantonal Public Institution "Home for socio-health care of persons with disabilities and other persons" at Nahorevska street 195 (former hospital "Dr. Ernest Grin") the Chairman of the Centar Municipal Council Nedžad Ajnadžić and the Cantonal Minister for Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees Karolina Karačić ceremonially opened the renovated Department for persons with dementia, reports the Patria News Agency. 

The renovation of this department, in addition to the Home's own funds, was realized thanks to the financial support of the Centar Municipality in the amount of 30,000 KM and the humanitarian organization "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" which contributed 10,000 KM.

The Director of the Home, Nafa Dizdarević, stated that the Centar Municipality is an example of how all levels of government should treat this and similar institutions.

-The sensitivity that the Centar Municipality, led by Mayor Dževad Bećirević, has is felt in 2015, as well as in previous years. The premises have been adapted and built according to the highest standards. The realization of this project means a lot to us - emphasized Dizdarević.

Chairman Ajnadžić pointed out that the Centar Municipality is proud to have participated in a project exclusively for persons with dementia.

-We are satisfied that the activity, for which Mayor Dževad Bećirević and the Centar Municipal Council are responsible, has been fully realized - said Ajnadžić, adding that the Municipality will continue to support the work of this social and health institution in the future.

In the last two years alone, the Centar Municipality has allocated 65,000 KM for the assistance of the "Home for socio-health care of persons with disabilities and other persons", and 15,000 KM has been provided for 2015.

The ceremonial opening of the renovated premises was attended by the Minister of Health of the Sarajevo Canton Emira Tanović–Mikulec, acting director of the Cantonal Center for Social Work Mevludin Avdić, director of the Home for children without parental care "Bjelave" Saudin Đurđević, advisor to the municipal mayor Mustafa Resić, and advisor to the Chairman of the Centar Municipal Council Adil Katica, it was announced from the Centar Municipality.
