Sarajevo on the verge of winning the BiH Cup

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the first match of the BiH Cup final, Sarajevo defeated Široki Brijeg 3-0 at the "Asim Ferhatović Hase" stadium. Sarajevo started the match brilliantly. They were quite offensive, and it paid off in the tenth minute when Rahmanović scored for 1-0.

After the goal, the Maroon team had several more chances, but the scoreboard remained 1-0. In the 25th minute, Ahmetović shot poorly from a solid position. It was the 39th minute when the Maroon team doubled their lead, and the scorer was Kapić. The poor reaction of goalkeeper Bilobrk also contributed to the goal. That was also the result at halftime.

At the beginning of the second half, Rahmanović missed a great opportunity. Bilobrk saved his one-on-one chance. Široki threatened on a counter-attack, but Babić made a poor pass in the final third. In the 64th minute, Matić stopped a home team counter-attack.

Jurić missed a good chance for Široki in the 70th minute. After a header, the ball went over the goal. Široki had a chance in the 74th minute as well, but they fumbled in the final third. Jurić had another chance in the 83rd minute, but Kovačević saved his shot.

In the final minutes of the match, there were two more good chances on both sides. Kovačević saved Matić's shot in the 86th minute, and on the other side, Šišić shot wide from a good position. Mujakić set the final score after a counter-attack in the 90th minute, bringing Sarajevo to the brink of winning the Cup.

The head coach of the Maroon team, Husref Musemić, said he was satisfied with how his players performed in this match.

“We won deservedly. The first half was perhaps the best of this half-season. From the 70th minute, we had a slight dip, but fortunately for us, Široki didn't score… Nothing is over yet, we have to play the second leg. I congratulate my players, and thank the fans for their support”, said Musemić, adding that this is not a small thing but that they still need to wait for the second leg.
