(Patria) - In a Sarajevo tram, moving from Baščaršija towards the Cathedral, around 7 PM tonight, a fight broke out between passengers, which led to the suspension of tram traffic.
According to GRAS, several people participated in the fight, one of whom remained in the vehicle due to injuries sustained until the police arrived, while the other participants in the incident fled the scene.
During the fight, according to the visibly shaken driver, the display and ticket printer were destroyed.
With the swift intervention of the driver and dispatcher, the police arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation.
From 7:20 PM to 8:52 PM, tram traffic was suspended from Skenderija towards Baščaršija. Buses operated on the Technical School-Baščaršija route instead of trams.
"We strongly condemn this and any other form of violence and vandalism in public transport vehicles, which jeopardizes the safety of passengers and drivers.
We expect a swift reaction from the authorities in shedding light on this unfortunate event. Given that the tram has video surveillance, the recorded material will be handed over to the competent authorities," GRAS stated.
