Traffic on most mountain passes is difficult due to snow

(Patria) - Due to packed and slushy snow on the road, traffic for trucks has been suspended on the Romanija (Sarajevo-Rogatica), Han Pogled (Vlasenica-Han Pijesak), and Bijeljina-Tuzla passes in Banj Brdo, announced BiHAMK.

Light snow is falling intermittently, and traffic is difficult on most mountain passes. The following passes are particularly affected: Ripač (Bihać-Bosanski Petrovac), Oštrelj (Bosanski Petrovac-Drvar), Komar (Travnik-Donji Vakuf), Rostovo (Bugojno-Novi Travnik), Makljen (Prozor-Gornji Vakuf/Uskoplje), Koprivnica (Bugojno-Kupres), Karaula (Olovo-Kladanj), and Nišići (Srednje-Olovo).

BiHAMK warns of the possibility of snow melting and water accumulating on the road. On the Šuica-Livno (Borova Glava) and Glamoč-Priluka (Korićina) roads, they warn of frequent wild horse crossings onto the road. In the wider areas of Livno, Glamoč, Kupres, and Bosanski Grahovo, strong gusts of wind are causing additional difficulties for drivers.

Due to water overflowing onto the road, traffic has been suspended on the Tutnjevac-Bobetino Brdo road.

All vehicles are prohibited from crossing the bridge on the Dobro Polje-Miljevina main road. Vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons can use the roads via Grebak or Kalinovik (there is 19 km of gravel road), while trucks must use the roads via Rogatica and Ustiprača.

On the A-1 Sarajevo sjever-Podlugovi and A-1 Sarajevo zapad-Lepenica sections of the highway, traffic is redirected to the passing lane due to necessary works.

Due to construction work on the Tomislavgrad-Prisoje main road, traffic is proceeding in one lane with traffic lights operating 24/7.

On the Jablanica-Blidinje main road, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tons remains suspended.

Traffic for all vehicles has been suspended on the Bosanski Šamac-Grebnica main road due to railway crossing repairs. Alternative routes are in use.

At border crossings, waiting times are currently up to 30 minutes.

Due to passenger registration under the new EU entry/exit system (EES), longer delays at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. From December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing will be open for all categories of vehicles. Traffic for all trucks is prohibited at the Šepak border crossing.
