(Patria) - The Independent Trade Union of BHRT Workers has initiated the procedure for entering a general strike, announced Anel Nurković, member of the Management Board of the Independent Trade Union of BHRT Workers.
The stable functioning and survival of the Public Media Service in Bosnia and Herzegovina remains in question. Besides the workers' existence, the shutdown of BHRT would also jeopardize the prospect of membership in the European Union. The BiH Public Service is one of the 14 conditions for membership. Therefore, finding a solution is urgently needed.
Numerous appeals from BHRT workers and trade unions to politicians to finally establish a sustainable financing model for the public service, in order to improve technical standards and ensure decent salaries for workers, have not yielded a positive response so far.
