
(Patria) - Leaders of the European Union (EU), Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo will meet today in Brussels at the European Union - Western Balkans Summit.
The Summit will be attended by the Chairperson of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, at the invitation of the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
The EU - Western Balkans Summit was last held on December 13, 2023. The EU then stated that it supports the membership of the Western Balkan countries, but expects them to implement the necessary reforms.
The issue of European Union enlargement will not be on the agenda as such, but will be discussed indirectly.
The first session of the summit will discuss political issues, and the second will discuss economic issues. Strengthening good neighborly relations and implementing the European development plan will be among the important topics of the summit.
