Salkić responds to Dodik's provocations, announces criminal complaint against organizers of January 9 celebration

(Patria) - Ramiz Salkić, a deputy in the National Assembly of the RS, sent an open letter to the leader of the smaller BiH entity, Milorad Dodik, regarding the invitation he received from him to attend the celebration of the unconstitutional Day of the RS on January 9.

Salkić's letter can be read in full below.

"I received from you an invitation to celebrate the date of the entity's Day of the RS on January 9, which has been banned by decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

I perceive this invitation of yours as a direct provocation from a former camp inmate detained in the concentration camps of the gymnasium of the elementary school 'Vuk Stefanović Karadžić' in Bratunac and the training center on Pale, which are a product of the fundamental decisions made on January 9, 1992.

You should know that the celebration of January 9 as the Day of the RS entity, for me and all surviving victims and families of killed Bosniaks, based on the decisions made on January 9, 1992, is deeply offensive and reminds us of the trauma and crimes we survived, including the committed and adjudicated genocide against Bosniaks perpetrated, according to valid verdicts of international courts, by the army and parts of the Bosnian Serb police.

I want to remind you that the celebration of January 9 as the Day of the RS entity in Bosnia and Herzegovina represents opposition to the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a direct violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, on the basis of which the RS entity exists.

As you know, failure to implement the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina carries sanctions under the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and therefore, due to this, as well as due to personal provocation, I will take the opportunity to file a criminal complaint against you, as well as other members of the organizing committee for the celebration of January 9, with the competent prosecutor's office in the coming days.

I sincerely hope that you and your followers will one day embark on a path of catharsis, confronting the truth from the past, which would make an immeasurable contribution to restoring trust and building a society in which peoples and citizens would feel free and equal, which is certainly not the case today in the entity of which you are president.

I want to remind you that Bosniaks have returned to live on their hearths, which, according to the Dayton Peace Agreement, are located in this entity, in peace with their neighbors, and have not undertaken any revenge actions, even though many perpetrators of war crimes against us are free, while some who have been convicted of genocide are considered heroes by you yourself.

We respect the Dayton Peace Agreement, which gives us the right to return without discrimination, but the entity of which you are president persistently discriminates against us by usurping our constitutionally guaranteed rights.

I call on you to change your approach towards Bosniaks, because before our return, many cities and settlements looked like places for filming horror movies. Unfortunately, due to your policy, many settlements today, and in the future, will look like that because this entity is being abandoned by everyone who has the opportunity to do so, not wanting to endure the sowing of fear, hatred, and mistrust that you spread."
