Salkić: Criminal complaint against Dodik and others over January 9 will be sent to the BiH Prosecutor's Office today

(Patria) - Ramiz Salkić, a delegate in the National Assembly of the RS, announced today that the SDA will file a criminal complaint against the President of the RS entity, Milorad Dodik, and other accomplices in the organization of the celebration of the "unconstitutional and illegal 'RS Day' on January 9."

In his address to the media, Salkić stated that the criminal complaint will be forwarded during the day to the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“The BiH Prosecutor's Office has been ignoring for years the fact that the authorities of this entity, led by Milorad Dodik, do not respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and oppose them by celebrating January 9 as RS Day. We expected the BiH Prosecutor's Office to initiate proceedings ex officio against those who do not respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH, but that did not happen, and we decided to take this step. On November 27, 2023, Dodik chaired the first session of the Committee for the Celebration of RS Day, where the Committee for the celebration of this day was constituted, the program was adopted, and working groups were formed for the preparation and implementation of the celebration on January 9," said Salkić.

He added that local communities were instructed to ensure the celebration of the day at the city, municipality, and Brčko District levels.

"A public call was also issued for the selection of a media company for the activities, and certain funds were allocated for that. Milorad Dodik, as the elected President of the RS, in cooperation with other unknown persons in the period before January 9, 2024, publicly appeared, took a series of measures and actions, and prepared the celebration of the unconstitutional RS Day on January 8 and 9, 2024. For the organization of this celebration, he used his official position, unlawfully engaged personnel and material resources, and attended a series of events, thereby showing disrespect for the rulings of the Constitutional Court, thus committing a criminal offense," stated Salkić.

In addition to Dodik, as Salkić said, the criminal complaint will also be filed against members of the Committee for the Organization of the Celebration of "RS Day" as well as other unknown persons.

He concluded that they expect the BiH Prosecutor's Office to determine through an investigation who all participated in this.
