Salkić: Bosniaks can "cover" RS

(Patria) - The situation in which Bosniaks find themselves in the RS entity today can only be changed if Bosniaks show greater responsibility towards the electoral process, said the MP from the Party of Democratic Action in the National Assembly of the smaller BiH entity and the party's vice-president, Ramiz Salkić.

He is currently visiting the diaspora and trying to encourage them to participate in political processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A prerequisite for this is also to register for the upcoming elections.

Salkić assesses that the current situation of Bosniaks in the RS entity is a consequence of persecution, genocide, systemic discrimination carried out by the current authorities, but also the fact that due to irresponsible behavior, only 10% of Bosniaks vote for the municipalities from which they were expelled during the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"This attitude of Bosniaks towards the electoral process greatly facilitates the current entity authorities, led by Dodik, in realizing their goals, which are undoubtedly directed against Bosniaks and our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosniaks can and must change this attitude if they want to improve their political and all other positions in this entity.

The task of this generation must be the political and all other elevation of Bosniaks in the places from which they were forcibly expelled.

Without this process, all our struggle for the defense of the homeland during the aggression and all our efforts over the years to restore life in the places of persecution will be in vain," Salkić wrote on his Facebook.


He emphasizes that Bosniaks "must become aware that our situation will not and cannot be changed by anyone but ourselves".

"We should, can, and must do this in the elections by registering to vote and voting in the municipalities from which we were expelled.

Eliminating the consequences of genocide is our moral and historical obligation that we must fulfill as a debt of gratitude to those who gave their lives for our freedom and peace.

Only by intensively working to eliminate the consequences of persecution and genocide do we create preconditions for a better future for Bosniaks in the RS entity.

Our giving up is a direct contribution to the realization of the wartime and peacetime goals of the Greater Serbian idea of eliminating the Drina as a border and dividing our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We have no right to give up; fatigue and disappointment are not an option; our obligation is a persistent struggle to eliminate the consequences of persecution and genocide for the better and safer future of our children, our people, and our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina," Salkić stated.

He called on the Bosniak diaspora to register by July 23 and exercise their right to vote for the municipalities from which they were expelled and "in this way oppose those who glorify war criminals, deny genocide, and work to divide Bosnia and Herzegovina".
