(Patria) - The landslide at Curine njive is a mirror of the work, coordination, capability and power of the current Government of Sarajevo Canton, which has strength, power and speed just like that lion in Pionirska, says the representative of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the KS Assembly, Jasmin Šaljić.
In a post on his Facebook profile, Šaljić, along with several photos of the landslide, wrote that due to the alarming situation, residents are still displaced to reception centers.
- I found only an elderly lady, Nihada, who came from the reception center to check on the houses, and a few other residents in the houses below.
The Curine njive landslide serves the authorities at all levels only to shift responsibility onto each other - Šaljić points out.
According to his words, the residents of these settlements, in addition to at least ten institutions that have the authority and duty to get involved in the remediation of the landslide, are left to fend for themselves and abandoned to the mercy of the upcoming autumn and winter weather conditions.
- Various commissions and staffs have been formed, but it is all in vain when there is no head to coordinate activities and lead processes. The old folk saying applies here: "Where there are many grandmothers, the children are sickly," notes Šaljić.
He adds that the remediation of this landslide involves the Municipality of Stari Grad, the cantonal Ministry of Urbanism, the cantonal Civil Protection, the Institute for Construction, the Institute for Planning, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the Municipality of Istočni Stari Grad, the Government of the Federation of BiH, the Government of Republika Srpska, and the Ministry of Security of BiH.
- And no one is responsible, or rather, someone else is responsible. None of these institutions call to account the investors of Garden and Trebević Hills, who triggered the landslide by dumping excavated material. That is the key and real question behind which politics and favoritism are hidden.
All the above-listed levels of government, in more than a year, have managed to order a study and project from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, which was paid for by the Government of Sarajevo Canton, and to pay two installments related to the remediation.
One of 20,000 KM - to build a fence and prevent further dumping of material. Another of 23,000 KM to install drainage. These installments were paid by the Municipality of Stari Grad.
The water drainage was done this summer, but unfortunately in a wrong and superficial way. According to residents, the water was diverted in the wrong direction towards Ablakovina instead of into the main sewage pipe towards the settlement of Komatin.
It was precisely this sloppy attempt at remediation that caused additional damage and cracks towards the nursery and the Kerić houses in the photo - Šaljić points out.
Finally, he adds that he will inform the public in detail about this issue at the session of the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton.
