Salihamidžić: Özil often disappears from the game, which is not good

Former BiH national team player and Bayern Munich midfielder Hasan Salihamidžić criticized Mesut Özil for foreign media, reports the Patria News Agency. Salihamidžić said that Özil often "gets lost in the game," which is not good.

- Özil faces a big challenge. He can do much more than what he is currently giving. He also played for Real Madrid before, but I cannot explain why he disappears from the game so often – said Salihamidžić.

Salihamidžić, who played for Bayern from 1998 to 2007, believes that Bayern's strategist Pep Guardiola cannot work at Bayern as he did at Barcelona and that he cannot rely on just one player as was the case with Lionel Messi at Barça.

- Bayern was a great team before, which resulted in reaching the Champions League final. A great result came precisely because of their work, and that was their goal. Guardiola has made some changes and is doing it successfully. He has made several tactical changes, and they look very flexible. They are now somewhat similar to Barcelona in that aspect of the game – added Salihamidžić.

He added that Bayern can be loved or hated, but that the Bavarians are something perfect.

- The Bayern team is balanced, and they do not rely on just one player. The Bavarians have created something perfect and fit perfectly into the great strengths of football – added Salihamidžić.
