The US has announced a diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics, which will be held from February 4 to 20, 2022.
According to BBC, the White House announced that it will not send official delegations to the Winter Olympics due to concerns about human rights violations by China.
However, they added that athletes can participate and will have the full support of official Washington.
China previously announced that it would retaliate with countermeasures due to this boycott.
US President Joe Biden stated on November 18 that his country was considering a diplomatic boycott of the Winter Olympics, scheduled for February in Beijing, in protest of human rights violations in China.
