Sabatini: Džeko is a professional of exceptional level and excellent education

(Patria) - Walter Sabatini, former sporting director of Roma, commented on the situation surrounding Edin Džeko during an appearance on an Italian television show.

Sabatini, who now works in Bologna, criticized the move by Paulo Fonseca, the coach of the Giallorossi, and praised the Diamond, who was stripped of his captaincy by the Portuguese coach's decision.

”I don’t like some of the things that have happened in Rome. Džeko is a professional of exceptional level and excellent education. He would never cause problems,” said Sabatini, adding:

”Roma has sold him four times in two years, and he has always wanted to stay. What did Fonseca want to achieve with this move? He probably wanted to increase his charisma in the locker room. It would be good for everything to return to normal. I know the locker room, I know that nothing serious could have happened to destabilize the locker room with Džeko.
