With Vico Zeljković, football in BiH sinks deeper, possible suspension of the BiH FA by UEFA

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is again seriously considering suspending the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina due to accumulated problems, but also due to political interference in sports.

UEFA decided on this step, among other things, after receiving reports from several embassies in Sarajevo.

- Everything will be much clearer by the beginning of February, as two meetings have already been scheduled for January. The first will thoroughly review all submitted reports, and the second will decide on the possible suspension of the FA of BiH, reports our source from UEFA headquarters.

According to information from Sarajevo, UEFA officials have concluded that the president of the FA of BiH, Vico Zeljković, as well as several other members of the BiH football government, are deeply involved in daily politics.

Therefore, the European football governing body is again seriously considering suspending the FA of BiH and re-installing a Normalization Committee, as the same or similar problems as in 2011 are once again on the scene.

Also, UEFA has information that the situation is the same or similar in other BiH sports associations...

Once, BiH football was saved by Ivica Osim and his chosen team, along with football ambassadors Dušan Bajević and Faruk Hadžibegić, and it seems they will have to do it again.

Otherwise, BiH football has been sinking deeper and deeper for a long time. The Premier League of BiH during the past and this year, due to tendentious refereeing, as well as numerous other problems, has returned to its lowest, post-war levels, and our national team is falling down the FIFA rankings month after month.

The "Dragons" are the 61st team in the world in the last ranking for 2021, which is six places lower than the previous rating. Burkina Faso is now ahead of our national team, and it used to be the 13th team in the world...
