Russian Federation sent aid to RS, Dodik said that FBiH should also seek it

BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - The first contingent of Russian medical aid in the fight against the coronavirus arrived at the Banja Luka airport today. The plane was met by member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik, RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković, RS President Željka Cvijanović, as well as the Ambassador of the Russian Federation Petar Ivancov.

Dodik emphasized that he is grateful for this comprehensive assistance, and added that the Federation of BiH should also seek help from the competent institutions.

"I will publicly support that request and I will call certain people to have it done in FBiH as well. We will do everything, if FBiH wants it, let them write a request, I will help them too," said Dodik, adding that he sees no reason why members of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation could not also go to FBiH and help.

It is interesting that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bisera Turković, thanked the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to BiH, Petar Ivancov, today for the aid that arrived today.

"The aid was delivered by three planes, and it consists of 5 special disinfection vehicles, as well as assistance from 9 drivers and 15 healthcare workers who are to help local authorities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the information conveyed by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation, the aid arrives at the request of Republika Srpska, but will be available throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina if needed," the statement from the BiH Ministry of Foreign Affairs reads.
