LAUSANNE, (Patria) - The International Olympic Committee has banned Russia from participating in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang next year due to the doping scandal.
Those Russian athletes who prove they are "clean" will be able to compete in South Korea under a neutral flag.
The decision followed accusations of state-sponsored doping at the 2014 Sochi Games, BBC reports.
- This should draw a line under this damaging episode - the IOC announced.
IOC President Thomas Bach announced this decision yesterday in Lausanne.
