Bosnia and Herzegovina handball team begins preparations for Spain and Austria

The Bosnia and Herzegovina handball team gathered yesterday in Ilidža ahead of the final two matches of the European Championship qualifiers, reports the Patria agency.

Our best handball players thus began preparations for the fifth round qualifier for the European Championship against Spain on June 14, and for the sixth round match against Austria on June 17.

Coach Bilal Šuman faced problems from the start, as injured Faruk Vražalić and Saša Marjanac will not be with the team.

Vražalić has been nursing a heel injury for a long time, while Marjanac tore knee ligaments last week.

Besides the two of them, at the start of preparations, Kosta Savić, Marko Panić, Dejan Malinović, Muhamed Toromanović and Senjamin Burić are missing, as they play the final round in the French league tomorrow.

Duško Čelica takes to the court tonight, while Benjamin Burić and Srđan Predragović will only play in the Bundesliga on Saturday. Marko Tarabochia and Nikola Prce arrive tonight, and Mirsad Terzić tomorrow evening. Also missing from the team are Nebojša Grahovac, Igor Mandić and Ibrahim Haseljić, who should also join the gathering very soon.

- We expect the entire team on Sunday evening, because the leagues in Germany and France are still ongoing. I can't wait to see what these new players can do. As for the matches themselves, the most important thing is that everything is in our hands and that we decide our own fate. The players are aware of the importance of the matches and I am glad to see that there is great desire among them - said coach Bilal Šuman for Scsport.ba.

He also took the opportunity to invite the public to come in large numbers to Skenderija against Spain.

- We really need support. I believe that fans will come in large numbers to help us achieve our goal, which is qualification for the European Championship - said Šuman.
