Bosnia and Herzegovina Handball Team Defeated by Czech Republic in Tuzla

TUZLA, (Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina handball team was defeated by the Czech Republic selection in Mejdan with a score of 20:25, in the 2nd round of Group 5 of the qualifications for the European Championship to be held in 2020 in Austria, Norway and Sweden.

In the first 20 minutes, the game was mostly goal for goal, and the teams alternated in the lead. During that period, we also missed two seven-meter throws, and after that, several technical errors followed, and the Czechs took a 6:9 lead in the 22nd minute with fast counterattacks.

Šuman then brought Josip Perić into the game, who brought a new attacking dimension to our play, so by the 28th minute we managed to reduce the deficit to 10:11. Then we had a chance to equalize, but Nuić's shot from the wing was stopped by the Czech goalkeeper, and the teams went to halftime with a score of 10:12.

At the beginning of the second half, the Czech goalkeeper Galia made excellent saves, so we scored our first goal only in the fifth minute of the continuation, when the score was 11:13. Unfortunately, we continued in a poor rhythm in the following minutes, so the Czech Republic led 11:17 in the 40th minute.

Our team was definitely tired in the continuation of the match, given that we played in Belarus two days before this match, and we did not have the strength to seriously threaten the quality guests, who ultimately deservedly celebrated with a 20:25 victory.

The top two teams from each of the eight qualification groups, as well as the three best third-placed teams, will qualify for the European Championship. (ScSport)
