(Patria) - Miners of the Zenica Brown Coal Mine have ended their work stoppage and headed into the pits during the second shift. After today's meeting between the Union and Management, the miners initially did not accept the offer to compensate workers who were shortchanged for March wages by adjusting April salaries with the amount not paid for March, and to draft a new wage regulation that would include compensation for difficult working conditions.
It was agreed that workers would return to their jobs and that everything else would be resolved later and as they go.
With the work stoppage, Zenica miners demanded the reinstatement of wage incentives, the elimination of which, despite an increase in the hourly rate from 2.5 to 2.7 KM, resulted in an average March wage reduction of about 200 KM.
The second shift stopped work on Monday, April 13, around 6:00 PM, when they left the Stara Jama pit facility, and around 9:00 PM, colleagues from the Raspotočje facility joined them. This completely halted production at the mine.
