RTV FBiH: We paid the money to BHRT, let Karamehmedović explain why the money goes to private production companies

(Patria) - The Management Board of Radio-Television of Federation of BiH wants to warn employees about new manipulations carried out by BHRT General Director Belmin Karamehmedović by spreading lies about unpaid funds from the RTV fee, which Elektroprivreda BiH paid on January 9, 2024.

"As in all previous six years, since the RTV fee collection agreement has been in effect, RTV Federacije has once again paid the total due funds to BHRT in accordance with valid legal norms and accounting procedures. Belmin Karamehmedović knows that this has been the practice for all these six years since the RTV fee has been collected through Elektroprivreda BiH.

The Management Board of RTV Federacije BiH, however, hopes that Karamehmedović will at least in this difficult situation stop another practice. Namely, all these years, Karamehmedović, instead of his employees, has been prioritizing payments of BHRT funds to affiliated private production companies from which he continuously buys program content at inflated prices. It is common knowledge that millions of marks from BHRT have flowed into the private pockets of the owners of these production companies in this way. We hope that this time the money will be used to pay salaries and other benefits to BHRT employees.

The Management Board of RTV Federacije also hopes that these funds will not be misused for the continued selective payment of contributions for pension and disability insurance to privileged members of BHRT management and editorial staff.

Given that this is also the final payment from Elektroprivreda BiH under the current Agreement, we call on all union members to positively influence Karamehmedović so that by signing an Annex, the only possible legal collection of the RTV fee in the Federation of BiH, on which the existence of employees of both public broadcasters based in Sarajevo depends, can continue", stated the Management Board of RTV FBiH.
