RTV FBiH calls on Karamehmedović to sign the agreement with EP BiH on RTV fee collection: Gambling with the existence of 1,300 employees

(Patria) - Elektroprivreda BiH sent an invitation to BHRT and RTVFBiH on December 27 to submit a harmonized and signed agreement or an annex to the agreement on business cooperation for the collection of RTV fees in the FBiH territory by December 28, Federal Television announced in last night's news.

RTVFBiH informs the public that three months ago it signed an Annex to the existing Agreement on the collection of RTV fees with Elektroprivreda BiH, which was harmonized by all parties and based on the law. The Management Board of RTVFBiH publicly calls on the General Director of BHRT, Belmin Karamehmedović, to finally sign the Annex to this agreement, through which the RTV fee has been collected in the FBiH territory for six years.

Karamehmedović is the only one refusing to sign it, thus gambling with the existence of 1,300 employees and creating preconditions for the cessation of operations and liquidation of both public services based in Sarajevo.

"We ask ourselves for whose benefit he is doing this and whether the cessation of operations of BHRT and RTVFBiH is projected with the aim of forgiving RTRS's 80 million KM debt to BHRT, or to establish a permanently divided ethnic public service on the ruins of our radio and television houses?

At the same time, there are no outstanding debts to BHRT from the Federation of BiH for RTV fees.

The largest part of RTRS's debt to BHRT was incurred precisely during Karamehmedović's mandate. And when it is known that he once appointed Tvrtko Milović to the highest editorial position at BHT1, a person who grossly insulted the suffering children of the Sarajevo siege, we also fear whether he is ready to perform euthanasia on public services in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We call on Karamehmedović to recognize the mistakes he has been making for a long time, to return within the framework of law and morality, and in the interest of all, to stop obstructing the continuation of RTV fee collection.

The law recognizes abuse of authority through action and omission, and an act or inaction by which a person gambles with the existence of 1,300 employees and the existence of public services – is a criminal offense from the perspective of the law, but from the perspective of morality and patriotism – it is an act of treason," the statement from the Management Board of RTVFBiH concludes.
