RS ENTRUSTED TO HDZ: Dodik Transferred Entity President Powers to Pranjić

(Patria) - Milorad Dodik is officially no longer the president of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska.

After the Central Election Commission (CIK) of BiH revoked his mandate based on a final verdict of the Court of BiH, his powers were taken over by RS Vice President Davor Pranjić, who signed a decree promulgating the Law on Amendments to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs.

The decree was published in today's Official Gazette of the RS, confirming the formal change at the head of the entity, reports Vijesti.ba.



Dodik had repeatedly stated that he does not recognize the Court of BiH, its decisions and verdicts, calling them unconstitutional. However, the latest developments show the opposite.

After being finally sentenced to one year in prison, he decided to use the legal option to replace the sentence with a fine, paying 36,500 KM to avoid going to prison. Thus, although reluctantly, he practically acknowledged the verdict.

He also contested the decision of the CIK of BiH to revoke his mandate, but the fact that the decree was now signed by his deputy clearly confirms that Dodik no longer holds the office of President of the RS.
