The first Deputy High Representative in BiH, Ambassador David Robinson, visited the Indirect Taxation Authority in Banja Luka today. The meeting with the Director of the ITA, Miro Džakula, discussed the work of the ITA and future plans, for which further support from the OHR was promised, reports the Patria News Agency.
ITA Director Miro Džakula informed Ambassador Robinson about all initiated processes currently underway in the Indirect Taxation Authority, as well as the problems the Authority faces in its work.
Director Džakula was particularly interested in the swift adoption of the Law on Fiscalization in the Brčko District, given that control activities conducted by the ITA indicate that significant financial resources are being fictitiously written off precisely through companies operating in the Brčko District, which is enabled by the absence of fiscal devices that track turnover.
The OHR delegation stated that the adoption of a set of certain legal solutions in the Brčko District is underway, including the Law on Fiscalization.
-The financial stability of the entire country depends entirely on the successful work of the ITA, so it should be in everyone's interest for the Authority to rise above daily political events, and for this institution to be supported in its work, as this will be better for all levels of government in BiH, said Director Džakula.
After an hour-long discussion, Ambassador Robinson highlighted that the results achieved by the ITA in 2014 are very significant, and promised further support from the OHR to the Indirect Taxation Authority, it was announced from the ITA.
