Road to Tokyo 2020: Larisa Cerić wins silver at Grand Slam in Baku

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The most successful BiH athlete Larisa Cerić won a silver medal at one of the strongest competitions on the planet - Grand Slam Baku 2019.

Cerić defeated Nunes Rochel (POR), M Bairo Anne (FRA), Kindzerska Irina (AZE) on her way to the final, and lost in the final to Kalanina Yelisavet from Ukraine.

This comeback after a serious injury, a quadriceps rupture, gives hope for the first Olympic medal for BIH.

Cerić once again confirmed what dedicated work brings.

Aleksandra Samardžić also competed at the Grand Slam in Baku; she was more successful than Russia's representative Kireeva Taisia in the first round, but was eliminated in the second round by former world vice-champion Bernabeu Marie from Spain.
