RK Borac: Players were not mentally able to focus on the game due to theft in the locker room

Handball club Borac m:tel wishes to inform the entire sports public that the only reason the team did not play the match for 7th place at the 47th International Handball TV Tournament of Champions in Doboj lies in the fact that the players of our team were not mentally able to concentrate on the game, due to the great discomfort they experienced during the match against the national team of Saudi Arabia, the club announced, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- We remind that during the match against the national team of Saudi Arabia, the locker room of our team was broken into and personal belongings, documents, mobile phones and money of the players and members of the coaching staff were stolen.

Also, we want to point out that by not playing the match for the final placement, we did not intend to damage the reputation and regularity of this tournament, and we extend special thanks to the organizers for the support we received, as well as to the members of the Doboj Public Security Center, who were at our service the entire time.

According to the head of the coaching staff of RK Borac m:tel, Igor Rađenović, the goal of participating in this tournament was to fine-tune the team before participating in the qualifications for the VELUX Champions League, and the result was secondary.

At the same time, this was also an opportunity for the coaching staff to get acquainted with the qualities of right wing handball player Boris Šekarić, who met expectations and a contract will be signed with him.

In the hope that the competent authorities will discover the perpetrators of the said incident as soon as possible and return the stolen items and money, we also expect that the management of the SEHA Gazprom League will understand the new situation and postpone the first round match, in which we were supposed to visit the team of Tatran from Prešov on August 26.
