Rijaset of the Islamic Community in BiH: Premature Abandonment of Self-Protection Measures Could Jeopardise the Sacrifice Made So Far

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chaired by Reis-ul-ulema Husein ef. Kavazović, the 20th regular session of the Rijaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held on Thursday, at which the proposed Plan of Ramadan activities for 1441 AH / 2020 was considered, and the Department for Religious Affairs was tasked with preparing a detailed instruction on the organisation of religious life during Ramadan under extraordinary circumstances.

The Rijaset gave its consent to the Department for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora for the form according to which the Department will conduct a survey in the congregations of the Islamic Community of Bosniaks in Germany for the application and implementation of the process for obtaining the status of a public law corporation. The proposed Plan for student enrolment at the faculties of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the 2020/2021 academic year was considered and adopted, as well as the Proposal for the appointment of the Founding Board of the Madrasa „Reis Ibrahim-ef. Maglajlić“ in Banja Luka. The proposals for the Rulebook on taking the final exam in madrasas and the Rulebook on the distribution and promotion of printed and other publications in the premises and facilities of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina were also adopted.

The session also considered the employment status and personnel issues of employees of the Islamic Community, as well as other current matters.

The Rijaset once again calls on all members and adherents of the Islamic Community in BiH to adhere to the instructions of the competent state authorities and the Islamic Community aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus. Members of the Community are also reminded that premature abandonment of self-protection measures could jeopardise the sacrifice and restraint made so far, and they are once again called upon for patience and self-control, the Rijaset announced.
