Rijaset of the Islamic Community in BiH: Vulgar Attack on Rabija Arifović is Absolutely Unacceptable

(Patria) - The Rijaset of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a statement today regarding the verbal attack on journalist Rabija Arifović.

"The well-known Bosnian-Herzegovinian journalist Rabija Arifović was subjected to a brutal attack by a person known to prosecuting authorities who, in a fit of rage, did not choose words to attack her human and professional dignity.

Namely, a person named Amir Pašić Faćo, in a video that circulated on the internet, made numerous insults against the journalist in an extremely vulgar and vile manner, for which, as reported, a criminal complaint was filed against him with the competent state authority," the Rijaset stated.

The statement notes that journalist Arifović is known for her integrity, morality and professionalism, as well as for her education, courtesy and responsible approach in performing her work tasks.

Only someone in a deep moral abyss, inner chaos and spiritual blindness can attack such a person, the Rijaset said.

They added that they expect state authorities to appropriately sanction the individual in question, as well as all others who take it upon themselves to attack someone's honor, especially the honor of a woman, who publicly act arrogantly, sow fear and hinder people in performing their work tasks.

"The bullies must be restrained, and society protected from their primitivism and aggressiveness," the Rijaset statement added.
