
(Patria) - A meeting of the Coordination Committee for the implementation of the UN General Assembly Resolution declaring July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica 1995 was held today at the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina building.
The Coordination Committee was formed by the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, in June 2024, immediately after the adoption of the Resolution in the UN General Assembly, with the aim of coordinating key activities for the implementation of the Resolution in a planned and systematic manner, from the highest level.
It was emphasized that the implementation of the Resolution contributes to the promotion of general civilizational norms and values, as well as to the preservation of truth, justice, accountability and crime prevention.
During the meeting, it was noted that significant results have been achieved in the past fifteen months of work.
The meeting participants reiterated that the implementation of the UN General Assembly Resolution declaring July 11 as the International Day of Remembrance and Commemoration of the Genocide in Srebrenica 1995 is a project of special interest for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
