Sitting volleyball national team record holder in medals won at prestigious competitions

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konaković and Minister of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton Mirvad Kurić received today the members of the Bosnia and Herzegovina sitting volleyball team who won the bronze medal at the European Championship, held in Poreč from November 4 to 11. This is the 21st consecutive medal from major competitions, world and European championships, Paralympics... In the match for third place against hosts Croatia, our team celebrated with a 3:0 result.

The Government of Sarajevo Canton wanted to show clearly with today's reception how much it understands the magnitude of their achieved result, talk with them and tell them that they will certainly be adequately rewarded for this outstanding result, because they are truly unique, but also an example to everyone of how one can succeed in sports. 

Coach Mirza Hrustemović reminded all present of the match against Croatia in which our national team members and his chosen players were big favorites, because the host team has never managed to defeat the best Bosnian team in sitting volleyball.

- We thank the Sarajevo Canton, because this time it was our only sponsor and helped our departure to this major competition. We brought bronze and that is not bad, but the fact is that sport is such that it happens that even with a won medal you are not satisfied - said coach Hrustemović.

Our national team is expecting the World Championship next year in July. 

- The Ministry of Culture and Sports will continue to support our sitting volleyball national team members, because they are record holders. No national team in the world has done anything similar to what they have done, who have a continuity of results in the last 20 years, and that should truly be appreciated - emphasized Minister Mirvad Kurić.
