BiH Ice Hockey Team Travels to Abu Dhabi for Qualifications

(Patria) - The senior BiH ice hockey team travels to Abu Dhabi (UAE) on Friday, March 29th, for the qualifying tournament to enter the third division of the IIHF.

After last year's failure at the qualification group III championship held in Sarajevo, the BiH team will try to qualify for the third division at the championship in Abu Dhabi from March 31st to April 6th, 2019.

The BiH national team players have been preparing for this championship since October last year, with on-ice training. The new coach of the BiH team, Uroš Brestovac, with his assistant from Canada, Samuel Le Fol, is optimistic. They have selected 18 players and two goalkeepers and are traveling to the championship full of optimism.

Ice hockey in BiH has been on an upward trajectory in recent years, with considerable success at the club level in younger age categories.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team for this championship is composed of the following players: Dino Pašović, Amel Capin, Nermin Alić, Dubravko Posavec, Mirza Omer, Muamer Džamalija, Admir Pilav (A), Haris Mrkva, Tarik Ćatović, Samir Music, Mirza Hadzic, Mirzet Hodžić (C), Muhamed Džinalic, Tarik Krehic, Emir Viđen, Ensar Ismailović, Ermin Hasović (A), Hamza Selmanović, Kenan Korjenić, and Antony London.

BiH has been participating continuously on the world hockey stage since 2015, although conditions for training on ice have never been available before the start of the championships, which are usually scheduled for late March and early April.
