The BiH weightlifting team won 15 individual medals and two gold cups in the team competition at the International Open Competition in Montenegro, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).
Member of the BiH team Sejfo Šehović explained to NAP that 14 athletes from BiH participated in the competition in Montenegro.
They competed in two categories: bench press and powerlifting. Among 140 competitors, BiH representatives won a total of 11 gold medals, three silver, and one bronze. In the team competition in both disciplines, they won gold medals, leaving behind Serbia and Montenegro, which were considered favorites.
- BiH has a good weightlifting team. This sport is progressing more and more every day in BiH – said Šehović.
He hopes that the relevant ministries for culture and sport will have more understanding in the future regarding this type of sport in BiH, writes Patria.
