Bosnia and Herzegovina national team defeated by Armenia

(Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national team was defeated today in Yerevan by Armenia with a score of 2:4 in the sixth match of the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Already in the third minute, the BiH team could have taken the lead when Edin Džeko hit the post after a pass from Miralem Pjanić.

Just a minute later, Armenia took the lead. Tigran Barseghyan sent the ball to the penalty area for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who rounded Ibrahim Šehić and scored.

BiH equalized in the 13th minute. Amer Gojak crossed from the left, and Džeko sent the ball into the net from five meters.

In the 38th minute, Pjanić tried a free kick from about 25 meters, but the ball went wide.

In the first twenty minutes of the second half, the home team had territorial initiative and created several chances. That offensive play paid off for the Armenians in the 66th minute when Mkhitaryan scored another goal.

In the 70th minute, Sead Kolašinac advanced on the left and sent the ball into the penalty area for Gojak, who brought Bosnia and Herzegovina back to a draw.

Hovhannes Hambartsumyan finished off an excellent home team attack with a goal for 3:2 in the 77th minute.

After that, the BiH team attacked more, trying to equalize, but from a counter-attack in the 5th second of stoppage time, after Mkhitaryan's shot, Stjepan Lončar deflected the ball into his own net for the final 4:2.
