Bosnia and Herzegovina national team starts preparations, three players out due to injuries

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team has started gathering at the Hercegovina hotel in Ilidža ahead of the Nations League matches against Northern Ireland and Austria.

The coach, Robert Prosinečki, was the first to arrive at our team's base. After Prosinečki, the players arrived, and Ognjen Vranješ and Darko Todorović were the first to get their gear.

On the first day of the gathering, coach Robert Prosinečki immediately faced trouble as he was left without several players.

- The medical staff examined the injured players. Vranješ, Bičakčić, and Nastić will not travel with us; Ćivić will stay, his injury can be treated. There will be no additional call-ups because visas cannot be arranged, we will go with what we have, and we will see what happens for Austria.

These are three players we were considering for the lineup, we will have to look for alternatives. We might call up some players for Austria, there's no crying, we will play with what we have available, I believe in these guys, we can play good football - said Prosinečki.

The Dragons' coach is satisfied with the current form of his players.

- I am pleased that 95% of the players are playing regularly, all are more or less in good form. We will do a good job before the match, the guys like to come to the gathering, I believe we will do everything properly.

He also commented on the Nations League and the upcoming opponents.

- This is an interesting competition, it's a chance to qualify for the European Championship, especially for smaller nations. We have drawn two very good teams. I expect that despite the problems, we will change something and have two excellent matches, which I am looking forward to. We will analyze everything, position ourselves as best as possible, and achieve positive results.

Although Asmir Begović was not included in the list of 23 players for the matches against Northern Ireland and Austria, which caused a huge reaction in the BiH public, the coach revealed that Begović will come to the hotel for talks.

- It is true that Begović is in BiH. He will come to the hotel for a conversation, and then we will see - said Prosinečki.

The Dragons will have their first training session tonight, and they will complete three training sessions before departing for Belfast, which is scheduled for Thursday at 11 AM.
