BiH national team starts preparations for matches against Montenegro and South Korea

SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team gathered in Ilidža ahead of friendly duels against Montenegro and South Korea.

BiH coach Robert Prosinečki emphasized that these two matches are important for the BiH selection, and that the match against Montenegro is given additional significance by the farewell of three former BiH national team players – Emir Spahić, Zvjezdan Misimović, and Vedad Ibišević.

- Against Montenegro, three of our national team players who have given a lot to BiH football will say goodbye. That is why the matches against Montenegro will also have a testimonial character. The timing for the matches is not the best as the leagues have just finished, but these matches are very important for us to gel the team and get to know the players – said Prosinečki.

For the mentioned matches, he will not be able to count on goalkeeper Asmir Begović and Sead Kolašinac.

- Begović has private problems, and Kolašinac is injured. The other players will be ready for the matches, we just hope there will be no injuries. We will approach the matches with the utmost seriousness, because afterwards we will not have friendly matches, and I think the Montenegrins are in the same situation – points out the coach.

He adds that he is pleased with the form of the players who were regulars in their clubs during the season, and that the team's desire is to win in all matches, including friendly ones.

- The result is important, we want to win in friendly matches too. We will do the job in the best way because of the atmosphere in the team – concluded Prosinečki.

BiH national team player Haris Duljević had an excellent season with the German second division team Dynamo Dresden. He emphasizes that the atmosphere in the national team is excellent, and that the players now need to forget about rest and dedicate themselves to their national team duties.

- We have to fully dedicate ourselves to the national team because it is the greatest thing in football. We will try to win, we have to work hard to prepare for the Nations League and the European Championship qualifiers. We understand what the coach expects from us, but there is still a lot of work to be done – explains Duljević.

The BiH national team will play a friendly match against Montenegro on Monday, May 28, at Bilino Polje in Zenica at 6 PM, and the day after they will travel to South Korea, whom they will face on June 1.
