Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team to Play in League of Nations B Division

UEFA has announced the division composition for the first edition of the League of Nations, which begins in September next year, reports Patria agency.

Our national team is placed in Division B along with the national teams of Sweden, Denmark, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Wales, Turkey, and Austria.

The national teams will be divided into four groups of three teams each. The group winners will qualify for Division A, while the last-placed teams will be relegated to Division C.

Group winners who fail to qualify for Euro 2020 through the qualifiers will play in a playoff, and only the playoff winner will secure a spot in the European Championship finals.

If a group winner in the League of Nations qualifies for the European Championship through the qualifiers, then the lower-ranked team from that group will advance to the playoff.

Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Spain, France, England, Switzerland, Italy, Iceland, Poland, Croatia, and the Netherlands will play in Division A. The national teams will be divided into four groups of three teams each. The group winners will play in the semi-finals, and the lowest-ranked teams from the groups will be relegated to Division B.

Hungary, Romania, Scotland, Slovenia, Greece, Serbia, Albania, Norway, Montenegro, Israel, Bulgaria, Finland, Cyprus, Estonia, and Lithuania will play in Division C, which will have one group of three and three groups of four teams.

Azerbaijan, Macedonia, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Latvia, Faroe Islands, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Liechtenstein, Malta, Andorra, Kosovo, San Marino, and Gibraltar will play in Division D. The selections will be divided into four groups of four teams each.

The draw for the group stage of the League of Nations will be held on January 24, 2018. The first round will be played from September 6 to 8, 2018, and the division finals will take place from June 5 to 9, 2019.
