Reis-ul-ulema visited by Fadil Novalić's wife

(Patria) - The Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, was visited today in Sarajevo by the wife of former FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalić, Selvija Novalić.

The Reis-ul-ulema listened to Novalić, who informed him about what their family is going through in their fight to prove innocence in the proceedings that were and are being conducted against Fadil Novalić before the Bosnian-Herzegovinian judiciary, especially after the last verdict of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Reis-ul-ulema expressed support for the Novalić family and their legal team in the fight for his rights, using all legally available means.

He called on them for patience and trust in the judicial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite all the challenges that are evident not only to the professional public but also to ordinary citizens.

“We should all respect Mr. Fadil Novalić's right to seek justice and a fair trial, just as he respected the Court's verdict and reported to serve his sentence. No one should be denied this right, not even through the media lynching we have witnessed in the past period. Based on what can be seen from the statement of the Constitutional Court, whose detailed decision is awaited, it is already evident that Mr. Novalić's right to a fair trial has been violated.

Due to citizens' trust in the judicial system, it is necessary for all proceedings to be returned to legal frameworks as soon as possible,” stated Reis-ul-ulema Kavazović on this occasion.
