Reisul-ulema Kavazović in Čajniče: We must return to these regions, visit them

(Patria) - The Reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, stated in Čajniče tonight that we must return to and visit the returnee regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The first tarawih prayer this year, as the central program for the Goražde Mufti, was performed tonight at the Sinan-beg Mosque in Čajniče, which is also the first collective prayer in this mosque after 32 years. The Reisul-ulema Kavazović attended the appropriate program and tarawih prayer, and addressed the present believers on this occasion.

„It gives me great pleasure that we are here, in this blessed time, as we have entered Ramadan, the most chosen time. This is our first gathering this month. Two pleasures, two joys tonight. The first is what opens our hearts, what elevates us, we are in Ramadan. This is the most chosen
time, the time in which Allah revealed the Quran. The last word of God is guidance for people, what the Prophet came with, to strengthen us in faith, to turn us towards tawhid, to show us the right path. That is the first joy we feel tonight on every inch of the earth. The second joy we feel is that as
Muslims tonight, with takbirs and salavats, we have opened the doors of this beautiful mosque,“ said the Reisul-ulema.

The Reisul-ulema added that we should remember Sinan Pasha, the waqif of this mosque, but also „all our fathers, grandfathers, grandmothers, great-grandfathers, great-grandmothers, who prostrated to Allah in this place, praying that Allah protect us Bosnian Muslims from problems“.

"As I said, this is a blessed time. The Quran was revealed in this month, but one of the pillars of our faith – fasting – was also commanded. I want to remind you that fasting is one of the most virtuous acts of worship. The doors of this mosque are what we enter through into the mosque. Through fasting, we enter the realm of all other acts of worship, because fasting
is distinguished by the fact that nothing stands between the servant and the Lord. Nothing else is as strong and powerful as fasting among acts of worship. Therefore, we should constantly keep in mind that this is a blessed time and that fasting is one of the crowning acts of worship,“ emphasized the Reisul-ulema.

He emphasized that „fasting does not consist only of abstaining from food and drink, but more importantly, it is important to be aware that fasting means refraining from everything that Allah has forbidden, refraining from all those things that separate us from the worship of God“.

„Allah educates us through fasting, to be as good as possible, to prepare ourselves for the hereafter. Our worldly journey is preparation for the hereafter. This night here is a reminder for us that there are great trials in our lives, which we must be ready to face, overcome, and emerge successfully as believers, directing our lives towards what is more righteous,“ stated the Reisul-ulema.

He told the residents of Čajniče, „you are masters of your own homes, Čajniče is our city, these are our communities, we feel at home here“.

„It is important that we come to these regions of ours, that we return, that we live, that we visit our mosques. Čajniče is our old bazaar, we must come to it, visit the mosques. I pray to God to give us strength to return to this city. These regions of ours where we have always been, these are the first regions in Bosnia where Islam came. From these regions are Mehmed-paša Sokolović, here is also Ahmed Bošnjak, a great scholar. This tells us how important this place is, which we must take care of, which must remain in our consciousness as the foundation of our being. I pray to God that we realize how vitally important these regions are for all of us. I see people who carry life within them, we all contribute to making all regions of our Bosnia rose gardens, places from which life will sprout, in which we will come and hear the clamor of our children,“ said the Reisul-ulema Husein-ef.
