(Patria) - The Reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community (IZ) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, organized a traditional iftar for Bosnian-Herzegovinian businessmen in Sarajevo tonight.
On this occasion, addressing the attendees, he reminded that Ramadan is a time of self-reflection, spiritual self-control, and a return to primordial human values.
- Each of us here knows that Ramadan has deep connections not only with our faith but also with our worldly affairs.
If we were to view this month through the prism of our obligation to seek sustenance, we would see that the principles advocated by Ramadan and fasting within it, such as patience, discipline, ethics, and transparency, are actually the same principles that govern the business world, on which we build our business relationships - said the Reisul-ulema.
He emphasized that, along with all the messages it brings, Ramadan also reminds us of the importance of belonging to family, community, as well as solidarity among people.
- As people who carry an important trust in our community, you have the privilege, but also the obligation, to be advocates and initiators of good, which you are. Our faith teaches us that the good deeds we do for others return to us.
The Almighty says in the Quran: "Is the reward for good anything but good" - noted Reis Kavazović.
On behalf of the Islamic Community and in his personal name, he thanked the present businessmen for their dedication to good and strengthening the Community.
- Your support for the Islamic Community through mosques in their renovation and development gives our people and community the strength to be stronger and better every day. I would especially ask you to get involved in the development of our mektebs and kindergartens in your local communities.
If you plan to leave a charitable legacy in your hometown, let it be an investment in a mekteb or kindergarten - added the Reisul-ulema.
Reflecting on the importance of the Islamic Community for our people, he described it as a "common house inherited from our fathers".
- It is the oldest institution among our people, as long as we can remember. Let us preserve and improve it. We are not perfect people, we are born and we die, but it remains as a legacy for our children, our sons and daughters.
We teach them that they have an obligation towards the Islamic Community, that is, towards themselves - said Reisul-ulema Kavazović.
He described the success of Bosnian-Herzegovinian businessmen as "the uprightness of our people and reliance on their own feet" after difficult times.
- Secure and strengthen your businesses, and the best protection will be if you are responsible in your work, just, and caring towards your employees. May God Almighty help you on that path - concluded Reis Kavazović.
