Reis Kavazović hosted an iftar for ambassadors: Even in these blessed moments of Ramadan, we pray for peace

(Patria) - The Rais al-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein-ef. Kavazović, hosted an iftar for ambassadors in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo tonight.

Emphasizing that these days we are in a time when we celebrate the power of God's word and His guidance and restrictions, Reis Kavazović said that fasting reveals our own weaknesses and limits, but also the untold strength of our will.



- We are pleased to share this joy with you. It is our tradition to share the moment of iftar with our loved ones, neighbors, and friends.

Certainly, our joy is greater because the Ramadan fast began a few days ago, as did Lent for our Catholic neighbors, Great Lent for Orthodox Christians, and Esther's Fast for Jews - he said.

He also points out that this strongly directs us to our common faith in the One, Merciful, and Almighty God and to the path towards Him, marked by fasting, prayer, and sincere inner renewal.



The Rais al-ulama also took the opportunity to share his concern about the escalation of conflicts in the Middle East, which, according to him, cannot be justified in any way.

- We are a small community of Muslims, but we feel a moral responsibility, with the lived experience of the horrors of war and genocide, to raise our voice and call for an end to the spiral of violence that has loomed over the world and has already affected our friendly nations and states - emphasized the Rais al-ulama.

He also reminded that the Islamic Community in BiH has appealed and called for conflicts to be stopped and disagreements to be resolved through agreement.

- Even in these blessed moments of Ramadan, we pray for peace and innocent victims in Iran, Palestine, and Israel, but also in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, and other countries - stressed Kavazović.



He added that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina live in constant tension and concern for security and peace in our country.

- Unfortunately, among us there are people who are a source of constant unrest and anxiety. Their insults, threats, and the hatred they spread towards Muslims cannot shake our faith in God and people, but they keep us vigilant.

We remain committed to unity and peace with our neighbors, and we count on your support - said the Rais al-ulama at tonight's iftar.



He emphasized that peace, stability, and prosperity in our country and the surrounding countries are of interest not only to the peoples living in these areas but also to all peoples of Europe and the world.

- Peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina are particularly important for the idea of a united Europe. Without Bosnia and Herzegovina, Europe is not whole.

Bosnia is Europe in miniature; it has always been a place of richness in diversity. Here, different worlds have met and coexisted for much longer than they have clashed - emphasized the Rais al-ulama.

In the end, he said that Bosniaks sincerely believe that the idea of unity in diversity is the only path to the future.
