Today, the Rais al-Ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazović, received a delegation from the Austrian city of Innsbruck, led by Mayor Christina Oopitz Plorer. This delegation also included representatives of religious communities from this Austrian city, reports the Patria News Agency.

During the conversation, the Rais al-Ulama informed the guests from Austria about the work and activities of the Islamic Community, emphasizing that the history of this institution is linked to this European country, during whose rule the Islamic Community was established in these regions.

He also touched upon interreligious dialogue and cooperation in our country and expressed his expectation that Austria, as one of the most important European countries, will contribute significantly to Bosnia and Herzegovina's integration into the European Union.

On this occasion, the Rais al-Ulama also thanked Austria for the support and assistance it has provided and continues to provide to our homeland, wishing for even better and higher quality cooperation in the future.

Mayor Christina Oopitz Plorer thanked the Rais al-Ulama for the words of welcome and, among other things, proudly highlighted the very high-quality and harmonious interreligious cooperation among all religious communities in this Austrian city, which is best reflected by the diverse composition of the delegation that visited the Rais al-Ulama today.

Otherwise, the delegation from Innsbruck is on a multi-day visit to Sarajevo, given that the city of Sarajevo and this twin Austrian city are celebrating 35 years of partnership and friendly ties this year, reported MINA.
