
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On Tuesday, the reisu-l-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein ef. Kavazović, held a meeting with the president of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton, Prof. Dr. Aida Pilav, and Prim. Dr. Amra Junuzović – Kaljić to discuss the measures taken by the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina aimed at preventing the spread of the coronavirus.
This is a continuation of the consultations that the reisu-l-ulema and other representatives of the Islamic Community have been having in recent days with relevant state authorities and experts in the fields of epidemiology and public health, with the goal of drafting protocols and recommendations for religious life during the month of Ramadan.
Reisu-l-ulema Kavazović emphasized that the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina will respect the recommendations of the relevant state and professional bodies, but that it is seeking ways to organize religious life during Ramadan in a manner that will not endanger the health of members of the Community, citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, or any other country where the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina operates.
