Reis Kavazović: Let the punishment of criminals be justice, let the mother's tear be a prayer...

(Patria) - The head of the Islamic Community, Husein ef. Kavazović, led the funeral prayer for 33 innocent victims of the Srebrenica genocide.

In his sermon dedicated to the 24th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica and Podrinje, Reis Kavazović said that July 11th is a day when everyone remembers in a special and different way the innocently killed people in Srebrenica, Podrinje, in BiH, those who gave their lives on the path to freedom and security, but also to empathize with their families.

"Our Lord, guide us along with those whom You have guided. Protect us from adversity among those whom You have protected. Bring us closer together with those whom You have brought closer to Yourself. Bless us in what You have given. Save us from a bad fate. No one can oppose Your decree.

Our Lord, he who is in Your proximity will not be harmed, nor will he who distances himself from You be elevated. You are glorified and exalted, our Lord. We ask for Your forgiveness and return to You with our repentance.

Our Lord, You have forbidden injustice and forbidden injustice to Your servants, You have announced Your threat in Your book: 'Whoever kills a person who has not killed another or who has not spread corruption in the land, it is as if he had killed all of mankind.' Our prophets brought them clear evidence.

Our Lord, take away the strength of the evildoers and thwart those who plot evil.

Our Lord, Your promise is coming true, and You have promised not to reject the prayer of one who has been wronged. Ultimate justice is with You.

Merciful God, if we forget You, do not forget us.

We pray to You, God, that sorrow becomes hope, that the punishment of criminals be justice, that the mother's tear be a prayer, that Srebrenica never happens again to anyone," said Reis Kavazović today in Potočari.

In the cemetery of the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center, 6,610 victims of the genocide committed in 1995 have found their final resting place so far.
