Two winners from each regional competition will participate in the national Spelling Bee competition on May 9, 2015, in Sarajevo, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
Organized by the U.S. Embassy, competitions have already been held in Zenica, Mostar, and Bihać. The winners in Mostar are Marko Simović from the "Fra Slavko Barbarić" High School in Čitluk, Mirsad Ugarak from Bugojno High School who took second place, and Marija Stipić from the "Fra Grga Martić" High School in Posušje.
The top three places and appropriate prizes at the competition in Bihać were won by Hana Galijašević from Velika Kladuša High School, Ivan Velić, and Dino Čeliković from Bihać High School.
At each regional competition, a representative from the U.S. Embassy serves as the “spelling judge” and presents the words that students need to spell.
